How to overcome the flaming arrows of the enemy

Ephesians 6:16
In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

Our focus scripture, gives us a clue of the kind of arrows the enemy will be sending at us. It describes it as flaming arrows or fiery darts in other translations. This means the purpose behind his shots is to cause a fire outbreak. When this flaming arrow gets to you, it sets on fire whatever it comes in contact with. Now, what are the indications that the flaming darts of the enemy are at work? Or what are the results of these flaming arrows in our lives?

These flaming arrows are responsible for the breakdown of marriages that have been experiencing happiness and joy and suddenly divorce sets in from nowhere. They are also responsible for the collapse of finances and rise of problems that make you feel like you are loosing your mind. All these are targeted at bringing you down if your faith is not in place. Our focus scripture talks about using the shield of faith to quench the flaming arrows of the enemy.

 How is the shield of faith applied? By engaging God's word! Irrespective of the kind of arrow the enemy sends at us, God's word surpasses it a million times. The bible said that God's word is like hammer ( Jeremiah 23:29), it's fire, it's powerful and sharper than any two edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). When you engage the word of God in whatever problem you are experiencing, you will last longer and win over it. Learn to engage the word, it's a skill most Christians are yet to master properly; that's the reason they can't contend for the faith. I believe this new month you shall defeat the enemy by engaging the word of God which makes up your shield of faith. Hallelujah!!!
