Cultivating the fruit of Joy.
Scripture Focus :
Galatians 5:22
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith.
The absence of Joy will definitely usher in the presence of sorrow. Joy brings about rest of mind, longevity of life, increased capacity and speed. The joy of the Lord is different from the Joy of the world because it has the ability to withstand death. Imagine having a Joy that cannot die, it means you will live in continuous victory and prosperity in soul and body.
As a man born of the Spirit of God, you will need to learn to cultivate the spirit of Joy by His Spirit in you. One of the ways you can do that is to first understand that Joy is part of the fruits of the Holy Spirit. It is His duty to supply you with this eternal Joy as you yield yourself to Him. Secondly, you have to meditate on the word of God.
Meditation on God's word does two things for you; it fills your heart and allows the Holy Spirit to make use of the word masticated in your heart to produce the Joy you need, when it is needed. For example, have you been in a situation where something bad occurs and as soon as your feelings go soar, the Spirit from within pops up a scripture and immediately you experience this ecstasy of joy. That's the experience of one who has always meditated on the word. As you follow these keys, you will be amazed at the results it will produce in your life. Hallelujah!
