The Power of Christ to receive what you desire
Scripture Focus :
John 15 : 7
If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
Let's do a brief analysis on our focus scripture. The word abide in the Greek transliteration is called menō, it means to remain or to continue to be present. This word was used twice in the same verse. If you abide in me ( to continue to be present) and my words abide in you ( to continue to be present ), the result of this is that you will ask what you desire and is shall be done for you. Our Lord Jesus Christ is revealing to us a powerful law in the Spirit that causes the desires of God's children to manifest.
Please take note of the word "continue" in the verse because it is a powerful word that many don't take seriously. It represents consistency and persistency. You may desire something and pray about it yet you aren't seeing it coming forth, don't let it loose your continuity in Christ. As you continue in Christ and His word, you'll become built up in the knowledge of Him and fully understand His will for your life.
When you continue to be present in Christ, you are to let His words continue to be present in you. It's like you give yourself to him and He gives His word to you so you have to be on the receiving end to make this a reality. You can't abide in Christ and reject His word. This is one of the key reasons many of God's children don't have their desires met. They want to be in God but don't want to surrender to the soverignty of His word. When you continue in His word, you will see your desires manifested. Hallelujah!!!
