Keys to an effective prayer life

Scripture Focus :

James 5:16 

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

An effective prayer life is a prayer life that is alive, active, on fire and at most acknowledged by God. There is no point praying when the person you are praying to  doesn't recognise your prayers. It's also important we know that without an effective Christian life we cannot have an effective prayer life. Your walk with God has to be current. Here are few keys that will help your prayer life. 

Walk in the Spirit. The advantage of this is that the Spirit of God helps us when we do not know what to pray for and also gives us the ability to pray. Develop the attitude of yelding yourslef to the Holy Spirit, stay obedient to His leading and you will find yourself growing in the place of prayer. The second key is to intentionally give yourself to prayer. The Apostles said we will give ourselves to prayer...this shows a deliberate act of submission to prayer. This will require you to put behind all distractions and now maintain focus on prayer. 

The devil will do all he can to get you busy in every other thing just to try to stop you from prayers. Therefore it will take deliberate commitment to build an effective prayer altar. Another key to effective prayer is to be an intercessor for others. When you develop the lifestyle of praying for others, you will gain what I call prayer momentum or fire that will keep you continually stirred up to pray. Hallelujah!!!
